A name, phone number, or address entered into a search box is sent to the third-party service that provides the result. Clifton Residents Directory does not retain a copy of those searches. If you contact us, we receive the contents of the message and use them only to respond.
Automatic Technical Data
The host may create routine logs with an IP address, browser information, pages requested, and times. We review this in aggregate to maintain the service and understand page use. Cookies or similar tools can support basic analytics and, where applicable, advertising measurement.
What We Do With This Data
We use this information to operate the service, resolve problems, measure traffic, and improve the reference pages. We do not sell visitor lists or create individual visitor profiles.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to county and state portals, library collections, archives, or third-party search services. The policy of the destination governs information you provide there. That includes sponsored search results supplied by another company.
Who Might See Your Data
The service providers that host and support the site process server logs for us. Analytics and advertising partners may receive the automatic data described above. We disclose data when a valid legal process requires it, and not otherwise.
How We Protect Your Data
The service uses an encrypted connection, and logs are retained only while needed for the purposes described here. Because there are no visitor accounts, Clifton Residents Directory does not maintain a visitor password or profile.
Users Under 18
The site is meant for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18; if you believe a minor has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Your Privacy Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, or deletion of personal data a website holds. New Jersey's Data Privacy Act is P.L. 2023, c. 266, principally codified at N.J.S.A. 56:8-166.4 et seq. Since this service retains very little, a request normally involves checking the contact mailbox and relevant logs, then removing applicable information. Use the Contact page. Government records held by New Jersey, Passaic County, or Clifton remain under the custodian's control.
